Dig up, Plant up and Step up!

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.  Marcel Proust

At the Oak Harbor Garden Club, we are the first-line educators and caretakers of our air, water, forest, land and wildlife.  The club is made up of a hard working, but very social, group of women!  Spread the word, invite your friends…..we always have room for more members!

No wallflowers, here.

The OHGC is a nonprofit community organization whose primary objectives are conservation and the beautification of Oak Harbor and its surroundings.

It all started with a tree…..

The Oak Harbor Garden Club has a unique and long history with the city of Oak Harbor. Starting in October 1923, with the identification of a stand of “Native” Oak trees, Smith Park became a memorial to this group of women who had the foresight to save this city block of trees for future generations. In August 1946, the Club became known as the Oak Harbor Civic Garden Club and in 1947, federated with Washington State Garden Clubs. In 1962, the Club changed its name to Oak Harbor Garden Club.
